Exactly what does Bureau Veritas do?
Bureau Veritas is a global company providing Asset management, Certification, Classification, Consulting, Inspection / audit, Testing & Analysis and Training & outsourcing to a variety of markets. Through these services, we help our clients manage risk and manage their business in a socially responsible manner.

What does that mean?
Perhaps the best way to understand is for me to provide examples.For example, in the area of environmental services, BV provides phase 1 & 2 assessments that trace the history of a property and the inspection or testing of the earth to determine if environmental risks exist. If contaminants are found we can direct remediation of the problem.In the area of construction materials testing, for example, we test concrete used in foundations and roadways to determine if it meets standards for these materials. We inspect steel and aerospace parts, elevators and pressure vessels to see if they meet the standards established for their classifications. And many more similar services are offered for different businesses.

So it sounds like you must hire only technical specialists? What are the different jobs at Bureau Veritas?
Bureau Veritas offers technical positions such as Inspectors, auditors and surveyors. In many of our businesses, we take a consultative approach so applicants with a client services background in one of our service lines are also desirable.? Bureau Veritas hires Marketing and Business Developers to help grow our business.? In the support areas, BV hires financial, human resources and administrative personnel.

How many people do you intend to hire this year?
In 2007, Bureau Veritas will recruit 2150 people throughout the world, in China about 500 in 2007 and more in the coming years.
